Why isn’t there a fixed list of Residence floorplans?
Keystone does not publish a permanent floorplan list for the Residence, and the available floorplans rotate by model year. A layout offered one year may be dropped or changed the next. Rather than chasing an old floorplan code, check what dealers actually have in stock right now and compare the current options against your needs.
Can I tow the Residence regularly?
You can tow it, but you shouldn’t plan to do so often. The Residence is a large destination trailer (typically 40-plus feet) built for stay-put living. It’s heavy, requires a serious tow vehicle, and is meant to be parked once for a season rather than moved between campgrounds. If frequent towing is your goal, a destination trailer is the wrong category.
Can I full-time in a Residence?
Many people live in destination trailers for extended seasons, and the Residence’s residential finishes and space make it comfortable for that. The key is that it’s full-timing in place, on a single site with proper hookups, not full-timing on the road. If you have a long-term lot with 50-amp power and a level pad, it can serve very well as a stationary residence.
Do I really need a 50-amp hookup?
Yes. These units are built around a 50-amp electrical service to run their full-size appliances and HVAC. A 30-amp or marginal connection won’t properly support the unit. You’ll also want a quality surge protector or electrical management system for long stays.
What kind of site does it need?
A long, level pad and a 50-amp hookup are the baseline. Because the unit is large and stays put, the site needs to accommodate its length, slide-outs, and weight. Confirm your site or campground can handle it before buying.
Is the luxury premium worth it?
It depends on how you’ll use it. If you’ll live in the unit for months each year, the residential finishes, stainless appliances, solid-surface counters, and upgraded furniture, pay off in daily comfort. If your use is lighter, a well-equipped mid-tier destination trailer may give you most of the experience for less. Buy the finish level you’ll actually use.
How much maintenance does a stay-put trailer need?
More than people expect. Even sitting still, the unit needs regular roof inspection and resealing, slide-seal care, tire and axle attention, electrical protection, and seasonal winterizing in cold climates. Treating it as “set and forget” is the most common source of owner problems.
